1 GAME
---------------------------------------------------------------
The country is once again in
turmoil.
Activists from the North have risen to
challenge the rule of the South.
Hardliners on both sides are sworn to win
the forthcoming election by any means possible. Many groups from North and South have formed and are registering as
legimitate political parties - in reality a front for armed militias preparing for the day which is set to be the
ultimate Election Battle ...
You will join the North or South
struggle
(by booking festival
ticket)
You may register as an individual voter or
you may register your own political party (2 or more voters).
Your party will be affiliated to the North
or South cause.
All party details will be forwarded
to the relevant election
campaign offices run by the North and South GENERALS.
It is widely speculated that the election
will see widespread public disorder. A number of key polling stations
have already been targeted by both sides -

The Game
North V South JUDGEMENT DAY is a battle for
control of the election process.
There are 6 polling stations on the game
area. These will be clearly marked POLLING STATION (as above) on the game zone - the exact locations are not
divulged until the game weekend.
The game is split into 4
scoring periods.
Scoring period 1 - 09:30 >
11:30
Scoring period 2 - 11:31 >
13:30
Scoring period 3 - 13:31 >
15:00
Scoring period 4 - 15:01 >
16:30
There are two sides -
North and South.
Each side
must find, capture and control the polling stations, and then proceed to have as many votes cast (by players) as
possible at each polling station, in each scoring period.
Casting a
vote is much the same as any other election. Voters will be identified at the polling station by their unique
player number and will receive a voting card. Cast a vote for North or South by marking an X in the appropriate
area, then drop it in the ballot box.
At the end
of each scoring period all ballot boxes will be emptied, and the votes collected and
transported by game control staff to the official counting agent.
Players may cast 1 vote, per polling station, per scoring period.
That’s a
total of 24 potential votes per player over the course of the day - but to achieve this the player would have to
vote at all 6 stations, in all 4 scoring periods!
Every vote
counts towards the overall result. 1 vote = 1 point. A full list will also be published showing all player
numbers and the votes each player cast during the game.
Ballot
Boxes, election equipment, or signage, may NOT be removed from POLLING STATIONS by players under any
circumstances. Election Adjudicators will be on hand at each polling station to assist with the voting
process.
Corrupt
practices !
Both
sides have been developing a network of influence amongst local and national officials in the run up to the
election process. Each side is able to call on a number of corrupt and dirty tricks available, with which they can affect the
election result…
“Destroy
votes” (x2)
(may be used twice in the game by each
side)
Each team
may choose to destroy the
contents of one of the six ballot boxes at the end of a scoring period, nullifying
ALL votes cast at that polling station within the scoring period. The team calling the
"destroy votes" play do not have to be in control of the ballot box.
The order
to destory will be given, by the team general, to game control staff, who will destroy ALL votes cast in the
chosen ballot box for that period.
Please note that the individual recording
of votes cast is unnafected but no TEAM SCORE will be given for ANY of the
votes.
“Steal
votes” (x 2)
(may be used twice in the game by each
side)
Each team
may choose to steal the
opponents votes from a ballot box at the end of a scoring period, IF they are in control
of the box.
The order
to steal will be given by the team general and the opposition voting cards will be stolen at the end of the
scoring period by game control staff. These votes will not count. "Own" votes still count, only opposition votes
in the ballot box are stolen.
Please note that the individual recording of votes
cast is unnafected but no TEAM SCORE will be given for the OPPOSITION
votes.
“Mobilize voters” (x 2)
(may be used twice in the game by each side)
In order to
help mobilize and concentrate votes on a specific polling station for a fixed period, each side may call on a
mobile compressed air truck to any area of the game for a 30 minute period. The mobile system will dispense
3000psi fills in the normal way whilst in situ. Only players from the team who placed the “mobilize” order may
utilize the air system during the designated period.
"Riot suppression" (x 2)
(may be used twice in the game by each
side)
Similair to
the "airstrike" resource in force at previous warped games....
Each side
has developed influence with local police and security forces and paid bribes to gain access to "riot
suppression" at a specific grid reference at any time.
Event staff
will give opposition general, and players within the area, 2 minutes notice of impending riot suppression. They
will surround the area, and will "arrest" (remove armband!) players caught within the designated area at the
appropriate time - put simply, if you see game control staff gather and they shout out "riot suppression - 2 minutes" you should move quickly from the area or risk
elimination.
Please note
- riot suppression only applies to players caught OUTSIDE. If you are in a polling station or other building you
will not be eliminated.
Scoring
VOTES:
1 valid vote = 1
point
At the end of each scoring
period all 6 ballot boxes will be emptied, and the contents sealed and transported to the official Counting
Agent.
KILLS:
1 elimination = 1
point
We use a DISPOSABLE armband system so have a count of every
elimination – or rather a count of all bands issued ie every Red band supplied equals a kill
for the Blue team! And vice versa. This will determine an elimination score for each
team.
Vote points + Elimination
points = Team Score
